Are you wondering how to repair a bow in Minecraft? We don’t blame you because the bow is an excellent weapon in Minecraft. After all, it allows you to defend yourself from a distance from different threats and enemies. The bow can be crafted, and it starts with specific durability. Once that durability goes low enough, you will need to repair a bow to use it. However, you may not realize that your method of repair will change based on having enchantments or not. This guide will explain the different methods of repairing a bow in Minecraft.

How to Repair a Bow in Minecraft

As discussed above, your repair method will change based on whether your bow has enchantments. If you use a bow with no enchantments, you have several easy ways to repair your bow. You can repair your bow that has no enchantments using the following methods:

  • Crafting Table
    • You can combine two bows by using the crafting slots in your inventory. All you need to do is drop two bows in both crafting slots, and you will be given a new bow with increased durability.
  • Grindstone
    • The grindstone will allow you to combine two bows to repair your bow. The durability of both bows will be added together, and an additional 5% will repair the final product.

Remember: The game adds the durability of both together. You will lose any enchantments from the bows when using the above repair methods.

How to Repair an Enchanted Bow in Minecraft

If your bow has enchantments, you will not want to use the grindstone or the Crafting Table to repair it because you will lose them. To repair an enchanted bow, you will need to use an Anvil instead. The Anvil will not only repair your bow but also combine the enchantments from both bows into one, increasing its durability.

Minecraft is available now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
