Elden Ring has unfortunately been delayed to February, which has obviously upset many in the gaming community. In order to pacify the disappointment though, From Software and Bandai Namco Entertainment have issued a closed network test that will be available to people who decide to sign up. The delays are because the freedom and strategy within the gameplay have exceeded what they originally expected and they need to adjust the game accordingly.

What this test period will consist of is a bit murky as we have yet to see any actual gameplay footage outside of a 30-second clip of test footage that was leaked, but it said it will be the opening hours of the game to get a taste of what is in store February 25th. If you want in though, here’s how to get in the Elden Ring Network Test.

How to get in Elden Ring Network Test

If you want to be part of the Elden Ring Network test, you need to go to the official Elden ring website and sign up. Now, this does not mean you’re automatically going to be in. Because it’s a closed test, there will be a select amount of players selected to participate. What you need to keep in mind here is that this is not the same as a beta.

A beta more or less shows off a finished version of the game that needs some tweaks but really represents the final product in most ways. A closed network test is used specifically to see how the game’s multiplayer component will work. That means it will focus on this bit specifically, so all players might not be interested in helping iron out bugs in this regard, and that’s the reason it isn’t open to everyone.

There are multiple times you will be able to try the game out though, so your chances for being chosen are higher if you have these times available to you:

  • Nov. 12: 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. PST
  • Nov. 12: 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. PST
  • Nov. 13: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. PST
  • Nov. 14: 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. PST
  • Nov. 14: 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. PST

Although it was originally supposed to drop in January, the delay has pushed our anticipation back another month. This is a pretty tame delay in the world of gaming though, so there is no need to have any concern as when it comes to From Software’s games, they have yet to miss on one in the past 10 years.

Elden Ring is available February 25th, 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
