Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination (UN-CMCoord) Training

The Civil-Military Coordination Service (CMCS) is pleased to invite you to our upcoming United Nations Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination (UN-CMCoord) training course. The residential training will be held from 15 to 20 January 2023 in The Hague, The Netherlands, with 24 participants. The Civil-Military Cooperation Centre of Excellence (CCOE) is generously covering the training venue, board and accommodation for the duration of the course. We kindly ask your organization to take care of travel, including any visa requirements, and applicable allowances. Please note that certain CoVid-19 measures still apply. ( Neither the host nor OCHA will cover any cost arising from the consequences of a positive COVID-19 test. CMCS, as part of OCHA’s Coordination Division, will lead the event. CMCS will bring together four interdependent emergency communities: a) OCHA and UN agencies; b) surge staff from Stand-by Partners, UNDAC and INSARAG; c) United NationsMember States, including domestic and international militaries; and d) non-governmental humanitarian organizations.The objective of the training course is to: a) define the concept of humanitarian civil-military coordination (UN-CMCoord), including the five sets of UN-CMCoord guidance, b) assess the UN-CMCoord environment in operational contexts, and c) play a key role in support of UN-CMCoord as it relates to humanitarian access and protection outcomes. We encourage mid-level managers to apply.
